Hiking
The Coachella Valley offers some of the best desert hiking opportunities around. More than 100 miles of well maintained trails meander through the valley and canyons. The streams and hiking trails through the many Indian Canyons are among the desert's most popular attractions. Guest can enjoy these activities at the following locations:
Joshua Tree National Park
Thirty-five miles of the California Riding and Hiking Trail pass through the park. Two to three days are required to hike the entire length of the trail but shorter hikes of 4, 6.7, or 11 miles (6.4, 10.7, or 17.6 km) are possible. Additional information on hikes is available at park visitor centers.
Indian Canyons
The canyons and associated resources are especially sacred to the Indians today and are historically important to scientists and nature lovers. Please enjoy the free gifts of equanimity and serenity that you may take with you.
While in Palm Canyon, visit the Trading Post for hiking maps, refreshments, Indian art and artifacts, books, jewelry, pottery, baskets, weavings and conversational cultural lore.

Big Wheel Tours
San Andreas Fault Nature Walk
Join our expert guides on a nature walk through a 20,000 acre preserve just minutes from most area resorts. You will walk on the San Andreas fault and learn how this massive formation has shaped our desert landscape. The preserve is also home to several endangered plants and animals, refreshing palm oases and a sand dune ecosystem that serves as a home to a rich array of desert animal life. Suitable for all skill levels. Departs daily at 8am and 1 pm. $49 per person
