Tennis
Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, Villas and Spa has a wonderful tennis legacy. As the past home of the Newsweek Champions Cup, now the sixth largest tournament in the world, we've hosted such members of the tennis elite as Pete Sampras, Boris Becker, Steffi Graf, Andre Agassi, Monica Seles, Stefan Edberg and so many others. Although our stadium is now gone, our new facility rests on the same hallowed ground where the stars made history. Our three hard-surface courts were created with our guests in mind.
We recently added some exciting new programs such as:
- Corporate Tennis Programs including Round Robin mixers, VIP clinics and various style competitions
- Tennis Instruction offering private, semi-private and group instruction for players of all levels
- Creative Tennis Outings specially designed for yourself, your family or your colleagues
- Expert Staff of Professional Instructors lead by is DJ Janssen, our USPTA certified Tennis Professional
- Complete Pro Shop, offering equipment rental and purchase, racquet stringing, clothing, expert advise, refreshing drinks and more
Club Services
- Spouse Programs - (two to four hours, eight persons minimum) Specifically created programs for the spouses and guests of your group. Food and beverage is available for each of these programs
- Open Court Time - Reserve "guaranteed" court time for recreational play for your group
- Any Day - Morning, afternoon or evening tennis events can be tailored to achieve your group's objectives, whether it's networking, team building or recreational play
- Networking Events - Round robins are exceptional vehicles for networking and have been well received by prior groups. Our experienced pros handle the details, from setting up to directing your event so you can enjoy it
- Brush Up - Many also appreciate the opportunity to brush up their game in VIP clinics, corporate academies or private lessons with our exceptional USPTA certified professionals
- Beverages - Beer, wine, soda, Gatorade, mineral water and fruit juices are available.
- Catering - Choose from our extensive catering selections, including BBQ, buffet or box lunches, cheese and fruit platters, continental breakfasts and more
Court Time
- Courts are available from 7a.m. to 10p.m., and may be booked by Spa Reception or the Tennis Pro Shop (760-674-4100)
- Court time can only be reserved within 24 hours of play and is complimentary to all Hyatt guests. Outside guest may play at our facility for $20 per hour on the day of play
- Court time is limited to one hour for singles & one hour for doubles during normal playing times. Court time may be limited to one hour during peak playing times, such as tournament time and holidays
- A single guest may not book two continuous times or two courts for the same time during peak playing levels
- During tournaments, we will reserve one court for players to use for practice.
